New “Sugar Express Tour”

Have a short time and want to see some of Maui’s agricultural beauty? Let us offer you a beautiful ride in our 8 passenger air-conditioned van with big picture windows to enjoy the scenery on Maui. We’ll pick  up Pride of America passengers at Kahului Harbor and others at  Whole Foods Kahului by the picnic tables. Then we’ll take you on a cultural journey to the only working sugar mill in the State of Hawaii. We’ll visit the Sugar Museum for  a wonderful historical recollection of Maui’s early history of the cane fields and sugar industry.

Then we’ll proceed up into Iao Valley for a gorgeous scenic drive through lush rain forests just above our Wailuku town center of business and commerce. Photos will be taken and a digital postcard of your journey provided for you.

After our scenic rain forest drive we’ll proceed on to the Maui Tropical Plantation for a wonderful Tram Tour which travels through a 60-acre working plantation and takes about 35-40 minutes. You’ll see where they grow all of the Tropical Fruits and Flowers along with breathtaking scenery. Along the way you’ll learn about Coconuts and even see a Coconut Husking Demonstration. It’s a really beautiful place.

Some of the crops that you’ll see on the  Tour are Coconuts, Sugarcane, Coffee, Macadamia Nuts, Taro, Papaya, Mango, Guava and Bananas. Coming Soon in December the “Story of Chocolate” at Melanie Boudar’s Sweet Paradise Chocolatier  Chocolate kitchen. She has just planted cacao trees which surround her Commercial kitchen cottage at Maui Tropical Plantation.

The “Sugar Express Tour”   is offered every morning based on availability.  (9 AM-12 noon) Cost is $75.00 This will fill up fast so hurry to book your tour. (We carry groups of seven passengers). Kama-aina  is 10% discount.                     Waters and juices are provided on the tour as well as local tropical fruits like watermelon, papaya, lilikoi or apple bananas.
